Health and Wellbeing

We have a variety of groups that meet each month to help support the health and wellbeing of our community. These are open to everyone across the community, regardless of your religious beliefs.

Carers’ Support Group

This group is offered in partnership with the Parks Medical Practice Patient Participation Group and meets every 4th Wednesday of the month at 10.30am at St James.

The group is friendly and informal, giving carers the opportunity to speak with others in a similar situation.

If you know of any family cares either caring for a relative at home or supporting relatives from a distance, please feel free to come along.

For more details, please contact John Sorrell on 07889 181158.

Cancer Wellbeing Support Group

Our Cancer Support Group meets on the 3rd Monday of each month at 8.00pm. It’s open to anyone with cancer, either active or in remission. Family members are also very welcome.

This is an open support group and we welcome all, irrespective of faith. The group maintains complete confidentiality.

For more details, please contact John Sorrell on 07889 181158.

Walk for Health

Our walking group meet at St James on the 2nd Sunday of the month at 2pm. We usually head out for a 3-5 mile ramble around the footpaths of the parish and is led by a guide. Afterwards you can replace the lost calories with tea and cake in church.
